Summer update

Date: 3rd Sep 2019 Author: Scout Websites
I hope everyone is enjoying their Summer break whether that is holidaying somewhere or just relaxing at home.

Although the sections stopped meeting at the end of July there has still been a lot going on both for our Group but also the wider Scouting movement. On the latter hopefully you will have seen various news stories and social media updates about the World Scout Jamboree that has just concluded in West Virginia, hosted jointly between America, Canada and Mexico. Approximately 46,000 young people from around the world celebrated being part of the Scouting movement. For those that attended they will have long lasting memories.

For our own Group our Summer Camps now all finished. Our Cubs went to Frylands Wood in New Addington, our Scouts went to Thriftwood in Essex and our Explorers did a dual location camp in France and Italy. Whether you attend a Jamboree or a Summer Camp these opportunities provide a valuable experience of activities, friendship and fun. Again long lasting memories will be generated.
