Fundraising

In order to maintain a viable Group at 17th Reigate, with an interesting range of activities, challenges and adventures for all age groups, we currently raise additional funds, over and above the level of subscriptions that are collected annually from our members. This is achieved through a regular programme of fundraising activities, including holding monthly teas and coffee, dances, race nights and quizzes, as well as hiring out the hall from time to time to local community groups and birthday parties.

Our fundraising activities are also designed to provide a social element to the Group and allow parents to enjoy themselves, as well as our young people.

We don’t currently have a dedicated Fundraising Committee, but is instead managed by the Group Exec however we would like to set up a dedicated committee to take on this responsibility.

If anyone is interested in either volunteering to join the Fundraising Committee at 17th Reigate Scout Group or in helping the Scout Group to organise a fundraising event, then please do not hesitate to contact the GSL

One simple way that everyone can help is to use easyfundraising.org whenever you purchase anything online through the likes of Amazon, Next, etc. It doesn’t cost you anything extra but a small percentage goes to the Group. As of March 2020 we have raised over £500 through this route and that’s just with 12 people using it!. To sign up go to www.easyfundraising.org and select 17th Reigate Scout Group as your chosen charity.

Details of current fundraising activities can be found through clicking on the relevant colour coded events shown in our calendar.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
