Graham Mountain
Assistant Explorer Leader

Graham works with Nikki and other explorer leaders to help provide explorer scouting to scouts primarily coming up from 17th 5th and 6th scout groups

.

Recently due to sudden retirement of a long serving Scout Leader, Graham has relinquished his Cub Leader role at 5th and taken on Scout Leader role at 5th proving a fun a challenging programme for the Scout section.

Graham has completed all required leader training for the aforementioned roles as well as Cub Scout Leader role that he has now moved on from, and has become an instructor in archery, climbing and air rifle, as well as obtaining a hill walking permit and qualified as a Duke of Edinburgh expedition assessor.

Also for Scouts and Explorers, Graham has take and passed all 3 ametrer radio licence exams and this enables both 17th and 5th groups opportunity to offer jota and joti each year and we are getting more and more contacts every year with scout groups all over the world.

Graham is proud to have been part of recent gold dofe leader team and that we can now offer all 3 levels of dofe to our group

Graham is always up for a bit of camping or adventure activities and also holds a green field camping permit.

Paul Cove
Scout Leader (Wednesday)

I have been involved in Scouting since I was a Cub (they didn’t have Beavers in my era!), only stopping briefly when my eldest child was born.  Over the 20+ years I have been a member of three different Scout Groups and have had leader appointments in Cubs, Scouts and was even a Group Scout Leader for a short period.

I use Scouting as an excuse to do the things that I used to do when younger and probably wouldn’t get the opportunity anymore.

Martin Beckett
Beaver Leader (Thursday)

My name is Martin and have been the leader for the Thursday Beaver colony for nearly 4 years. I have 4 children of my own, and enjoy cycling, golf and generally being outdoors as much as possible!

Mark Youings
Assistant Beaver Leader
Sarah Davies
Assistant Beaver Leader

I’ve been an assistant Beaver Leader since 2016.  I love to see the children start their Scouting and try new activities and challenges.  The most rewarding thing I have done so far was accompany the Beavers on their Go Wild overnight camp.  For some of them, this was their first experience of camping and many achieved far more than they could have imagined with the large range of activities that was on offer, from the climbing wall to slingshots, go-karting to team challenges and archery to a cave maze.
